UNA Germany and the WFP Innovation Accelerator invite you to a discussion on the use of digital technology by the UN on 21 November 2019, 6pm (admission: 5.30pm) at the WFP Innovation Accelerator in Munich:

As digitalization increasingly becomes part of day-to-day life around the globe, the United Nations is also finding innovative new ways to use technology in its work. This is especially relevant in the context of migration, refugee, and humanitarian affairs.

This event will bring together experts from the Office of the High-Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the World Food Programme (WFP), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the German Development Institute (DIE) to explore and discuss how digitalization and technology are being used to support refugees, enable access to education, provide food aid, and support livelihoods for displaced people.

The panel and audience will cover a number of critical questions, including:

- How does digitalization affect the operation of organizations from the UN system?
- Which digital technologies and tools have been adopted in the UN’s humanitarian work?
- What role can start-ups and the private sector play in strengthening the ability of the United Nations to improve the lives of people around the globe, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals?
